These one-of-a-kind pieces have been reimagined using milk paint. Milk paint is an ancient paint containing just five simple ingredients – milk protein (casein), limestone, clay, chalk and non-toxic pigment. It's environmentally friendly, non-toxic and contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

It starts in a powder form and when prepared, (mixed with water) is a much lighter consistency than any paint you've ever experienced. I personally choose it over other types as most tend to be thick and simply rest on top of a piece. Milk paint requires more thin layers and on pieces with grain available, (not top coated with a clear coat or other product) it absorbs and has a beautiful effect.

Each piece is finished with either a wax or hemp oil finish. The waxes are museum quality, made from beeswax with a little carnauba wax.  The hemp oil is 100% natural, Canadian made and organic. For cleaning either of these finishes, dry dusting with a cloth is recommended or scrub it with a damp cloth when necessary. While both of these finishes are durable, care should be taken to clean up spills etc. quickly to avoid staining or moisture damage.
